Is it normal to drill a pilot hole first?
Is it normal to drill a pilot hole first (using a smaller, normal bit) before using this type of drill bit?
(Particular application at the moment is a hollow bathroom door, drilling hole for lock spindle)

Is this drill bit OK for going through plasterboard
is it ok to use with a black & decker drill

The only reason I bought this bit was to drill plaster board lm using a 10 volt Bosch drill and the holes are perfect I was installing the 20mm Gripit fixings drilled close to 100 holes with 1 bit and the last one was as good as the first, if you did want a little advice it would be “Don’t put to much pressure on the drill “ I found if I let the drill do the work you get a much better result, first couple I burst through the back paper of the board
