Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great impact, well worth it Have had this for about 6 months and have to say it's really good. Have used it to drive more lag bolts, timber framing screws and deck screws than I can count and it doesn't break a sweat. Have also used it for a handful of car work, it's not going to take an axle nut off but it's good for most reasonably tight bolts. Mines will take off properly torqued wheel bolts, but if the tyre shop has ugga duggad your wheels on then it's not going to budge them. It's been dropped more times than I can could and kicked around the yard and its still going strong. For the price with the full kit it's well worth the money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Value Impact Driver As a DIY'er it hasn't yet had a lot of work. Good make and price and does what is says on the tin. Have only given 3 stars for reliability as have not used it for long enough

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Looks great, works well, but.. I wasn't sure if I should have got a half inch driver but this was on budget and available so I took the plunge. First impressions were great, it looks the part and feels great in the hand. The case is handy and the charger is a bit noisy but we can live with that.. can't we? As I bought it primarily for automotive use the first thing I bought was a set of socket adapters - the three supplied Phillips bits supplied left me more than a little disappointed. So, to work. I'm in the middle of a decking project so this is what it should be good at. I used torx headed screws and thankfully they came supplied with a driver bit. First one in and ...whoops- where did it go? A very narrow variable speed band before full throttle is reached ensured that the screw was buried beyond recovery. It's powerful for sure. Second go was with some 120mm flanged hex head (10mm) timber screws. Again, the hair trigger ensures a fast insertion but the extra energy required to seat these soldiers gave a little more control and time to ease up on the trigger. I wanted to see what it could do though and gave it a bit more welly and wasn't too surprised to see the screwhead - and flange - sinking into the post. All good so far then. So, to the meat in the pie. Just how strong is it? To test it I clamped an M8 bolt in my Dad's trusty old Record vice and used the driver to tighten a nut as far as it would go.. Properly tight - three sessions of maximum dugga-dugga until it was gudentoight (credit to Ave for the vernacular there). The box claims 160nM of torque but my torque wrench clicked its way up to 75 ft lbs whereafter it started to tighten again. Hmmm - that equates to a gnat's over 101nM torque, 59nM short of target... So, it's useful within its ability, but for big stuff buy a bigger one or stick with a windy gun... Hope this helps! Greg

Trigger delay

Is the trigger delay deliberate or is my impact faulty. After trying a few other brands of impact over the last couple of days there is a noticeable delay before my erbauer impact responds to the trigger being pressed.
Asked by: Qplr
Hello Qplr, There should not be a trigger delay no. I would suggest if the item is still in warranty to take it back to your local Screwfix branch so we can sort this issue out for you. Thank you for using Q&A.

Noisy when charging

Charging the 4.0 ah battery is very noisy - is this normal? Sounds like there is fan constantly running during the charge?
Asked by: rfazley
Hello rfazley, The charger will have a fan which will make noise, this is nothing to be concerned. Thank you for using Q&A

Will this impact wrench undo wheel nuts on a car ?

Asked by: Hegsi
While it's not really designed to undo wheel nuts. I have used mines multiple times to remove wheel nuts and bolts, takes the dew ugga duggas but it gets there. My wheel nuts are properly torqued though, if yours have been rattled on by the tyre shop it probably won't take them off.
