will these go through steel

I need to get a drill piece that goes through steel and been told a diamond tip will do it but can’t find a diamond anywhere

tapered pilot drill keeps falling out

how does the tapered pilot bit fix into the hole ? it keeps coming loose and leaping out what am I doing wrong ?

Hello StupidSection, The pilot drill has a tapered fitting that you push into the arbor, if you then press the drill bit against the solid surface you are about to drill it should then remain in place when drilling. Thank you for using Q&A SW
