Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does the job Great product. Purchased for a laundry room that included a extractor fan that worked with the light. The laundry room light kept being left on, so in turn, the fan, so this solved that problem.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from hard working time delay switch Replacing some older switches of the same type in a block of flats. The old ones had been in around 10 years and some had started sticking. Adjustment is delicate so be prepared to take your time and make small adjustments. A rough adjustment can be done before connecting. I found if I gently wound the screw in. Do not force it. and then backed it out a fraction of a turn each time I reached the required delay fairly quickly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well made product Bought this to replace a failed unit which was a different brand. It was easy to fit and seems a better made product.

what is the IP rating of this switch?

Asked by: grumpy234
There is no IP rating for this switch because it is an indoor switch only and has the same minimal rating as expected with any standard 1 gang 1 way switch normally found within any home or office. We do have a splash/dirt cover for the button (part number 163) but this only gives minor protection. The 163 is unavailable at Screwfix.

Use in a toilet

Would this be OK for use in a toilet? Currently the switch is outside the room which isn't ideal. The room has a toilet and a small sink over 1m away from the switch proposed location & it operates light & a fan on a timer.
Asked by: NorfolknGood1
We would not normally recommend a switch that you would touch within a toilet due to hygiene issues. The norm today is to select PIR products so there is no contact with the switch.

Can you use this switch in a intermediate light circuit in the staircase

Asked by: Arlind
Hi Arlind, With our products we do not need to use intermediates as they refer to normal manual on/off switches. With a time switch you only ever switch the switch on and it turns itself off. So the answer is Yes you can use our switches in those circuits but you only use 2 wires and wire in parallel to the COM and N/O terminals. The strapper becomes redundant as the end user never needs to switch the switches off.

Usage

Hi, our current 1 gang shower room light switch which is outside the door operates the LED downlights and timer fan, could this be used to replace it?
Asked by: Barncopxx
Hi Barncopxx, It could be used but the timing range is very short and probably not ideal for a shower room. Unfortunately there is no other 2 wire switch you can use from Screwfix as the choice and options are limited. If you can get a neutral to the switch position then utilise the 34572 from Screwfix which will be far better provided the switch is not in a bedroom (due to the blue locator ring). Elsewhere you can buy the 350B-1 Elkay Push Button Timer and the 400E Elkay Columbus Electronic switch which give a much longer time range which would be more suitable. regards
