Rated 3 out of 5 by from Terrible quality, barely usab As mentioned by other reviews the quality of the screw is poor. Ignoring that they are flat head, making them hard to use anyway, the metal is incredibly soft. Coupled with the shallow slot they cam out and deform if you try to screw them in with a traditional approach. The only way I managed to use them after trial and error. 1. Drive in a cross head screw to expand your fixing. 2. Load the screw into the chuck of your drill (gripping it by the head with your chuck) and drive it as far in as possible. 3. With a screwdriver very carefully see them home. The screws are too soft to screw them all the way with a flat head driver.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Ok screws Look nice but the heads are a very fine balance to bring ok to absolute rubbish whilst screwing them in. Even making a pilot hole it's difficult to not damage the head whilst fixing them. They're not even a standard flat head screwdriver range. Done the Job but not great to use. Good luck.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from poorly made The first issue is that the slotted screwdriver kerf has not been well machined therefore you cannot get a decent screwdriver to work the screw in easily. Some are better than others! The driver shifts out of place and damages the top line of threads in the centre. The mixture of brass and steel will always have issues. The second issue is that the plastic grommet is deeper than the head of the cap. This means that you cannot get the head to finish flush with whatever you are fixing. You see it raised and a black 'washer' under the cap. Have had to scrap at least three in a pack due to slotted kerf or crossed thread in either the screw or cap.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Impossible to screw in The screw head is a flat head and there isn't enough purchase on the screwdriver to screw them in.

Is it a slot headed screw or a cross headed one?

What weight of mirror can this support?

Asked by: D0UGS
Hello D0UGS This depends on a lot of factors if the wall is solid or a stud wall and if the studs are set at 400mm or 600mm centres 8ga screws will hold a lot of downforce weight and and an average size 30in x 72in glass mirror weight is 7-10 KG. Thank you for using Screwfix Q&A

These don't look like they have separate caps. Are they screwed in by hand?

Asked by: Fiddes
Hello Fiddes, They do have separate caps, which screw on rather than snap on. Underneath the cap is a conventional slotted screw head. Thank you for using Screwfix Q&A.
