Rated 5 out of 5 by from Strong and secure Trying to find the right screws for the job seemed daunting when I realised I'd made an error in judgement after drilling pilot holes. After buying these and using them, I'm glad I screwed up to begin with. They're tough, no slipping and stripping because they take a T25 bit, and now my project is secured perfectly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Screws I used these to fix 2x2 battening to a couple of internal walls. Where the wall was blockwork I used a 5mm drill bit and where into brick and concrete lintel I used 5.5mm and this gave a great fixing without the hassle of using rawl plugs

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Secure without rawlplugs I bought these to fix 5cm thick wood panels to a garden wall. I drilled 5mm holes directly through the wood and into the wall. I screwed them in by hand, and they are all secure.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product purchased these to hold up wall pots, worked perfectly! One thing to mention for a non DIY person they don't have a standard cross head so check before you use them.

63mm batten to brick

Would these be suitable to secure 63mm batten to a brick wall (without wall plug)? it will then be insulated, boarded and tiled with cabinets? Many thanks
Asked by: Jen83
Hello, Thank you for using Q&A. We cannot offer specific installation advice or say if these are what you need for your project but concrete screws can be used to fix a wooden batten to concrete, (worth thinking about drilling a clearance hole in the wood to avoid splitting. Hope that helps. MH

Do they need a pilot hole if so what size ?

Asked by: Ry90
Screwfix say 6mm but this is not the case! Screw won’t even touch the sides! Seems strange when a 7.5 screw needs a 6mm pilot hole answered by screwfix? I would suggest a 5mm masonry drill bit.

Thermalite

Can you use these in thermalite blocks?
Asked by: Diva
Hello Diva, Thermalite blocks tend to be very soft so whilst these could be used it will depend on the load of what you are screwing onto the block. You may wish to have a look at purchasing a dedicated thermalite fixing. Thank you for using Q&A (CW)
