Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simple to operate and reliable Have used these thermostatic valves for a number of years. Simple to operate and reliable. I would recommend removing them periodically and checking there is no build up of material from the valve beneath to ensure the mechanism continues to operate without obstruction.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Replacement Original TRV heads have a fixed life so it's good that replacements are available at a reasonable price. Very easy to fit.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Quality issues? I have used these and their immediate predecessor for decades across different houses and they look great and work well and have generally lasted a really long time. This cemented my faith in the brand and I chose them over others whatever the price. Bought one in January this year to replace one about 10 years old. The new one has already failed (3 months) - the plastic breaking at the base. I hope this is an anomaly and I will seek replacement under the guarantee but it seems I am not alone (reading reviews). I do hope the doubt this has created in my mind is misplaced...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Efficient replacement Top of my thermostatic valve broke due to plastic fatigue but was delighted to see that a replacement head was available and that Screwfix had them in stock and at a fair price

How does the warranty work?

I purchased the Drayton TRV4 back in Nov 2020, but it has fallen to bits. Can I get a direct replacement with Screwfix? If so, how do i do this?
Asked by: Gilbes
Your warranty is for 12 months with your supplier, you will need to take the faulty TRV4 with the receipt back to them for a replacement.

Is the up and down plunger part of the sensing head?

The sensing head moves freely but I think the bit that physically regulates the flow is jammed.
Asked by: REDRAG
Yes the rod inside for opening and closing the valve is part of the thermostatic head

Has the design of the TRV4 been changed. I have just bought a new valve but none of my existing TRV4 sensor heads will fit it. The spindle on the new body is about 1.5mm longer than the old spindle. This means the threads on the sensor head cannot engage.

Asked by: Andy123467
If the diameter of the old head is 30mm and not 27mm then it should fit, make sure you open the head to Max and push down on the pin and it should then engage the threads.

Will this TRV head work on a ‘Lifestyle’ valve?

I have swapped a Lifestyle TRV head for this TRV4 head, set it to frost setting but the rad after an hour or more is still hot ?? Please help ??
Asked by: Anonymous
Yes it will work on a lifestyle valve body( providing its not over 15 yrs old ) I would try a head that you know works and shuts off on that valve body and see if it closes the valve ( You may have a faulty head )

I have what looks like an identical head but has British Gas stamped on it and not Drayton. Is it the same?

Asked by: gianni
Yes, It is the same thermostatic head.
