Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just the job Used to replaced seized up old ones, just don't forget to close them before turning the water back on - they arrive open.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Value Item is great value. Does what is expected and the flow rate was great too. I'd had one already, but after over use and overtightening the rubber came through to the otherside causing a leak :( This item was immediately replaced however with confidence in the part.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Did the job Need to drain the upstairs radiators, so fitted to downstairs radiator via the bleed plug. Worked a treat and no need to train the full system. The flow was great too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Drain Valve It works as designed. What else is there to say about a drain valve.

Can you swap an B type to an A type

Asked by: Wellhard63
Hello Wellhard63, Yes, as far as we are aware, the Type A is a better design and plumbers prefer them. Type A has a gland to prevent water from running down the threads and out when you open the valve, whereas Type B does not have this gland. When you open a Type B to drain a central heating system, a lot of water runs down the threads and onto the floor instead of going down the drain hose. Thank you for using Screwfix Q&A.
