Hello. Yes a 45A switch can in theory be used to turn a shower on and off, however there a lots of other factors to take into account to ensure compatibility such as the rating of the shower, its compliance with fitting into the relevant bathroom zone, the installation environment (i.e cable size used, MCB the circuit is backed up by), etc. If you are unsure on any of these factors we recommend contacting a qualified electrician, to ensure its compliance with the latest building regulations.
