Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy fix on a bodge job As part of a kitchen plumbing fiasco this was bought to overhaul a complete cowboy job in my missus’s place. Used to split a cold water supply into the washing machine and off into a flexi hose for an outdoor tap, replacing a cheap and nasty self-tapping(?) garden hose fitting which has leaked since day one, and a broken washing machine isolator valve which also intermittently leaked and was “fixed” with silicon and electrical tape. A cheap and easy fix to a nasty job, now there’s no leaks, the wife is happy and I’m feeling quite pleased with myself.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Speedy solution. Simple, speedy solution for a common problem. Installed this onto an existing tap isolator to tee in for a dishwasher. Quick and simple to use, great value for money not sure yet on its reliability I guess time will tell.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Maybe I got a duff one I’ve installed many washing/dishwasher machine valves over the years and this is the first time I’ve installed one which was impossible to turn off. As soon as I turned the water back on after installation it fired a jet of water across the kitchen from the 3/4 adapter. It was “fully turned off” and I subsequently removed the blue plastic valve handle to see if I could find a position, with a spanner, where there was no leak from the valve; there was no position where I could turn the water off completely and therefore the valve is inoperable. For reference - this was connected to the cold supply and it does have fairly high pressure but even with all cold taps turned on downstairs (to reduce the pressure) it still leaked.

DOES THE VALVE BLANK BOTH OUTLETS?

Hi ,Does the valve blank both outlets when turned off? Or only the 3/4" outlet that i will connect to dishwasher? Thanks
Asked by: pedro666
Hello, Thank you for your enquiry. This will only stop the flow of water to the 3/4" connection to the dishwasher/washing machine. Hope that helps. Thank you for using Q&A.

Can I use this to plumb a fridge into the same feed as the washing machine?

Asked by: Someb0dy
Hello Someb0dy, This could potentially be suitable for this use, providing the fridge requires a 3/4" BSP connection. However, this particular valve is designed to fit into a length of pipework, so would be in addition to the existing fitting on the end of the pipe. Item 24030 may be more suitable, which will replace an existing single valve with a twin. Thank you for using Q&A AS

Can I use this to add a dishwasher connection to where my existing washing machine is connected?

Asked by: misslou
Hello, Thank you for your enquiry. Dishwashers use the same connections as a washing machine so yes, this can be used for a dishwasher. Hope that helps. Thank you for using Q&A MH
