Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good product. Generally easy to use but do read instructions or it can confuse.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Two broke after 2 years of use Generally ok to use except for two problems, the second one was terminal. I have three of these outdoors at my home on gates and an access door Two of the three jammed more than once and I had to dismantle, fiddle around with the internal workings, reassemble and they worked again. After two years, two of the three failed catastrophically when removing the lock to reset the combination. The long bolts at top and bottom became 'fixed' inside their thread and under the force of a hand held screwdriver the bolts sheared. it is clear in hindsight the diameter of these bolts is insufficient for the job they have to do. Recommend one or both of the following: - NEVER change the combination, and so no need to unscrew the bolts - Although they do jam sometimes, so you may have no choice - Grease the bolt thread, to limit the risk of the bolts shearing. I am now having to buy two new ones and will grease the threads. Fingers crossed.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Robust codelock Good medium to heavy duty lock. More hard-wearing than other locks we have used. Only got 4 stars on performance because the handle return spring broke on one of 5 locks we have fitted. no problem from the other 4 in about 2 years.

Code free access vs holdback

difference between code free access and holdback facility? Total Depth of the tubular latchbolt? I have 80mm door panel
Asked by: Jonwilton
Hi Jonwilton thanks for the question. Hold back - this is a small snib on the inner handle plate. Open the door and hold the inner handle in the down position and activate the snib and the latch is then 'held-back' giving access to all. As the latch is held back this mean the door or gate will move in the wind. To reverse, just release the snib. Code Free Access - enter the code and press the code free access button. This means the handle will freely operate without the code being entered. As the latch still operates the door/gate can be closed and latched and will not be affected by wind or air pressure. To reverse just press the 'C' clear button. Hope this helps, if you have any doubts please give us an idea of your application and we'll advise you of the best option for you.

Garden wooden door

Hi, Can this lock be used on a external wooden garden door? Will it be ok exposed to all elements?
Asked by: Samh77
Hi Samh77, this lock can be installed outdoors, exposed to the elements, but we do recommend using a silicone based spray to the lock, this will help to dispel dirt/moisture, and maintain the finish. If the lock is being fitted to a gate it is important to ensure the gate closes without slamming, which can impact the latch bolt.

diable code free mode

Having purchased on of these mistakenly with code free mode, I would like to disable it... as its regularly being set inadvertently. Can this be done?
Asked by: Barry2129103
Hi Barry2129103, The code free feature can be disabled by removing the corresponding tumbler on the back of the lock, this is the same process as changing the code on the lock, and detailed in the Code Change Guide included in the box.

Can this lock be used with an existing electric slide for a night latch for intercom access to a building?

Have an existing night latch electric slide that works with secure entry system already installed. Would this lock be compatible if installed into the door.
Asked by: Hcarol800
Hi Hcarol800, the Codelocks Heavy Duty Push-Button Lock is designed to work as a stand alone device, and would be considered separate to the existing intercom system you have.
