I am painting the above ground outside walls of a concrete foundation after removing the flaky paint that it now has. Do I need a primer before using this?
The Bostik Cementone Waterproofing Bituminous Black Paint is a solvent based, brush applied general purpose bitumen product that can be used for suitable exterior waterproofing requirements. It can be applied to materials such as wood, brickwork, stonework and metal with two coats are recommended, ( with the second coat applied once the first one has dried. ) A primer is not generally required for the product which includes when applying to concrete, but if preferred, an initial coat of the product could be applied with it diluted with 25% white spirit ( by volume ) and left to dry before applying the further two coats of undiluted product.
