Rated 5 out of 5 by from Another bright idea What a bargain cannot get any cheaper on the net, very sturdy well made constructed of steel so cannot be easily damaged like a lot of the cheaper plastic ones, well done Screwfix you've done it again, and yes I would definitely recommend this item.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product Bought this for my garage, easy to install, but no instructions in box. Had to use youtube video as this was first time I had installed a consumer unit. Looks good. Only minor issue did not come with cable fixings, gromets not much good, and had to drill out cable holes (could not push out) which left a sharp edge to be filed down

Rated 4 out of 5 by from BG 3-way CU Good value for money, would be nicer if BG can start providing labels with these consumer unit

Is there a connection point for a fly lead to the front cover?

Is there a connection point on the front cover in order to attach a fly lead? If not, how is it suggested you would do so?
Asked by: Ads1986

Is this Suitable for Outdoor use, i.e for caravan or hot tub

Asked by: Steve19677691
Hi Steve19677691, The enclosure is IP rated enough to be installed outside, but it should be noted that there is no locking facility so the devices will be accessible to anyone whom can reach the board easily.

Can I add an additional 32A fuse for a second ring main?

Asked by: KennyDIY
Hi KennyDIY, There _is_ space for an additional device in the enclosure, but depending on predicted circuit loads you might need to consider replacing the supplied 40A RCD with a 63 or 80A rated version to avoid overloading issues.

Does the RCD protect ALL the circuits. Ideally I want to fit this to my garage. One circuit would be used for electric doors and I don’t want to risk nuisance tripping on that circuit. What additional 10A MCB would be appropriate for the door circuit?

Asked by: Asia
Hi Asia, Yes, the RCD is the incoming connection point for the power feed so protects all outgoing circuits from leakage events. Our code for your required MCB would be either CUMB10 (for a B trip curve model) or CUMC10 (for a C curve version).

Appropriate RCD Rating?

Hi all, I've added an extra 32A MCB which gives me a total of 1 x 6A, 2 x 32A and the current RCD installed is 40A. Do I need to replace my RCD so it's more or equal to the MCB's Amps ratings added together? Thanks, Sam
Asked by: Stravvy
Hi Stravvy, If you are ever likely to be running more than the stated 40A capacity through the RCD then this could cause damage to the internals and may cause faulty operation or no operation at all, so replacing with a 63 or even 80A rated equivalent would be the best option.
