Rated 4 out of 5 by from Cheap and does the job Good, no nonsense item. Does the job. No problem either buying or installing the item.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Satellite Socket Sky cable installed by previous owners was just pushed through a hole drilled through wall. I have now filled that and used this new plate to replace grubby old disused TV coax. Easy to wire and install the plate and have added a 90 degree coupler to keep the cable neat against the wall. Now using dish to feed Freesat on TV, so might bin Virgin to save £ during Covid unemployment,

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really easy fit Bought this to replace an old TV socket which had gone "baggy" and each time the tv moved, the cable fell out. Easy fit, take care with the screening plate screws, other than this, no issues.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Does the job but Overall it's OK and does the job but it has minor niggles. The clamp that holds the cable is poor in 2 ways. The self threading screws that hold it in place have mostly stripped the plastic away so its barely holds the coax cable in place. It's weak and vulnerable and if you even ever so slightly over tighten then that's the threads stripped. Also the metal plate that loops over the coax cable could be bigger. You cannot simply loosen the screws and push the cable under the clamp you have to remove it completely. Which means you never have enough hands to hold the plate, position the cable, hold the clamp and rethread the self threading screws back in. So long as you take your time and don't over tighten then all is good but beware.

Does the clamp give connection for the earth or just the plate on the circuit board please?.

(Can you wrap the earth of the cable around the clamp and the screws will make the connection or the earth of the cable has to face downwards to the circuit board). I get the main copper cable has to be screwed in.
Asked by: BenL
Hi BenL, The clamp should make contact with the foil & mesh Earthing layer of the cable when correctly installed (which will also press part of this layer against the pad below it as well).

will this be ok for freeview tv. ie main aerial in to it then to a boster.

Asked by: kingy1976
Hi, thank you for your product enquiry. Freeview aerial connections and TV boosters normally use Co-Axial plugs and sockets rather than F-Connector (which are more often used for satellite or DAB radio connections), so you should check whether the cables you will be using are the screw-on F-Connector type or the push-in Co-Axial type before purchasing.

Is the f type connector plate dc passive

Hi Is the f type satellite outlet is d.c passive. Im adding a sky eye to this through the rf2 from the sky box.
Asked by: Taranjit
Hi, thank you for your product enquiry. This is not an Isolated socket so will not block the returning signal from a Sky Eye system.

Is this item faulty?

Re the answer to my previous question "Is soldering required with this socket? " If you look at the rear of the socket in the picture or on an actual socket there is no 'screw terminal' just a solder blob. Is this item faulty?
Asked by: ColHill
Hi, thank you for your product enquiry. The picture of the rear shows the circuit board with the cable clamp (and Earthing point for the cable shielding layer) at the bottom retained by the two corner screws, then the clamping screw terminal centrally located just above it and below the 5 solder blobs in the centre of the board.
