Rated 4 out of 5 by from Switched on. Easy to fit with added parts to help with different situations, Only just fitted so can't comment on its reliability but have no reason to be pessimistic.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Electrical engineer Bought 8 of these and only one tripped in correct times. Carried out a de lock earth loop and 2 tripped and would not take reading . These also tripped on half current which fails. Other 5 tripped on half test also . Tried 2 avo multifunctional meters both calibrated 2 weeks ago. So very poor.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good product but... The product is good, but comes with standard 40 mm long face plate electrical screws. I would have thought most people will have to use the included plate spacer, and that would make the length of the screws too short in most cases?. This was my problem, so I had to purchase some additional 60 mm x 3.5mm (standard) electrical screws. Note that you can get 70mm length screws, but they may be too long, and hit the back of the gang before fully screwed in.

Can l plug into it a 5amp plug feeding grungfos macerator and a 3amp light.

Asked by: scooter2456
This socket accepts normal UK 3-pin plugs. So you can insert one fitted with a 5A fuse for the macerator, along with a second one with a 3A fuse for your light.

Will RCD socket trip if overloaded

Want to plug a lot of Christmas lights into this socket. If anything went wrong with cables or if it was overloaded would it trip and save things setting on fire etc.
Asked by: johnpur
Hi johnpur, RCDs, or Residual Current Devices to give their full name, look for an imbalance between the Live and Neutral power consumption (basically a leak), overload protection is the realm of fuses or circuit breakers.

on/off indicator

I find the difference between red and green is barley visible. Just wondered if this is a fault or a characteristic? The indicator may just be piece of coloured plastic as opposed to an LED for example? Thanks.
Asked by: Spikelec
Hi Spikelec, You are correct about the indicator being a plastic flag, _not_ an LED, so in a less brightly lit location it may not be as obvious what colour is being displayed.

Would it be OK for hot tub outside ? Socket inside.

Asked by: heavymeteltec2
Hi heavymetaltec2, As long as your cable is long enough and has a safe route between the socket and tub (i.e. not likely to be pinched, crushed, abraded or cut) then that won't cause any problems for the socket or safety RCD functionality.

will this go into existing outdoor ip66 socket enclosure

Hi I have outdoor ip66 socket can i use this rcd socket into the same ip66 enclosure thanks Will it be just a swap
Asked by: ARSH
Hi ARSH, That will depend on the particular weatherproof socket you already have. If it is one of our own BG units then you would need to have an 800 Series socket in order to fit correctly (this one being 900 series is too flat to be secured properly).
