Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality Item and amazing value Bought this to replace a Wylex unit. Had to put a very slight 'S' bend in the mcb busbar as the front busbar terminals on the BG are a few mm slightly more forward than the Wylex one that was being replaced, but not enough to cause any problem and unit fitted and tested OK - nice quality item.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from BG 80A, 100mA RCD Used this to replace a faulty RCD. Well made good terminals and physically correct dimensions to replace Schuppa RCD only problem was that the outgoing Land N terminals were reversed compared to original RCD so existing copper links to MCBs could not be used and short cable links had to be made and there was not a lot of room! The outgoing Live terminal is on the L.H. side of the trip. I suppose it would be possible to mount the RCD on the RH side of the consumer unit and move the MCBs to the Left in some instances but not in this case.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from High quality High quality as expected from British general, also good for sorting some nuisance trips in old wiring when just the board needs replacing for duel rcd jobs etc

Would this work on a 220vAC 60hz supply

Asked by: Scotshiker
Hi Scotshiker, All of the BG Circuit Protection range devices are specifically designed, tested and certified for use on 50Hz systems only, so we could _not_ recommend using them in a 60Hz system

Replacement to Hager?

Hi. Can this replace a Hager RCD?
Asked by: Deckindad
Mixing manufacturer parts is not recommended and, in the case of units not lining up correctly, overheating and burning can be a real possibility. Don't risk it.

Is this a standard size, will it replace an RCD in a Reco / non BG consumer unit?

Asked by: t1r2i3s4h5
Hi, thank you for your product enquiry. Theoretically all consumer unit devices are of a standard size, so this British General 80A 100mA DP Type AC RCD _should_ be able to fit in any standard board. We do not, however, have any technical data or samples of non-BG enclosures or devices so cannot be certain that it would be suitable/compatible. Additionally, the current regulations specifically state that you should not mix manufacturers in an installation.

Can I run power from my house to this rcd within a shed and have one light and 2 plug sockets from this? Thanks.

All I would put in the socket is tumble dryer and washing machine and one ceiling light . Would this be too much for one rcd?
Asked by: JessicaW
Hi, thank you for your product enquiry. This British General 80A 100mA DP Type AC RCD is capable of coping with a constant power flow of 19200W (19.2kW) so should not be overloaded by a washing machine, a tumble dryer and some lighting even if all are running at the same time.

Is this a time delayed RCD.

Asked by: Qazwosxedc
Hi, Thank you for your product enquiry. This BG 80A 100mA Double Pole Type AC RCD (code CUR80100) is _not_ time delayed, we do make a time delayed version (code CUR80100TD) but Screwfix do not stock this model so you would need to try a local electrical wholesaler instead.
