Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Ringing Endorsement. I got this to power a Eufy Video Doorbell. It sits nicely in a couple of spare slots in the consumer unit so is very tidy. The doorbell is running happily on the 12 volt circuit. Overall it is a cost effective and tidy way of supplying the doorbell. Can't comment on reliability as it has only been running for a few weeks so just gave the middle rating as you can't leave it blank.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Doorbell fitted...ding-dong! First time installing an item to consumer unit. This product made it easy. Very solid 'snap' fit on DIN rail makes it solid.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not enough juice If you're planning on using this with a Nest Hello and want to use your original chime too, then in my experience it doesn't output enough power. It will power the doorbell itself no problems, just not the chime on top of that. I found a 15v 1A (15W) AC adapter elsewhere which works fine.

Buzzing noise

There is quite a loud buzzing noise coming from the transformer when used with my nest hello doorbell (12v). I've heard they are quite delicate. Is it worth replacing to see if a different one fixes the noise problem?
Asked by: Joel7
I’ve tried a few, they all buzz loudly. I’d love a solution to this if anyone has one.

Hi jimf1, As Ring have the best technical familiarity with their products we would have to suggest that you follow any installation guidance which they give (i.e. install a resistor as indicated)

Can I power this (in parallel) off a ceiling light rose?

I don't have any sockets that are close by I can spur off so was wondering if it was possible as I don't want run lengthy cables to get power. The ceiling light inside the porch is the closest power source. I want to power a eufy video doorbell.
Asked by: JamesClifford
Hi JamesClifford, This is a Consumer Unit device, so should be mounted inside the consumer unit with feed wiring from it out to the doorbell.

ring door bell again....can i run live, neutral and earth into this and wires out to the doorbell and put it in a junction box on the wall ? is that suitable ?

Asked by: steviebb
Hi steviebb, There is no Earth connection on this device as it is class 2 (plastic bodied so non-conductive). As for mounting, it is a Consumer Unit device so should only be mounted inside there really.
