Rated 5 out of 5 by from handy shower unit Well priced easy to install and looks good, knocks are better removed with a 20mm cutter and use your own grommets, labels could be better, overall a good buy and I will keep using them

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Cheap but NOT cheerful I always liked the BG plastic CUs but since they've switched to metal their design has gone downhill, to the extent that I won't be using them again. The unit looks nice, but the design is very poor and fitting is a real pain. The knockouts are not properly cut so were not removeable without a 20mm holesaw and the placement is poorly thought out so cabling is difficult to bring in through the bottom knockouts without fouling the RCD or MCB (There is not enough space behind the DIN rail to bring meter tails up). On top of that, the plastic clips holding the top Neutral rail kept popping out when put under any kind of tension (as you get when using thick cables as you will be in a shower unit!) The only plus I can give this is that it looks nice when fitted and it was cheap. But it took me at least an hour extra to install than it should have done, so can really only recommend this if the extra time time you will spend is worth less than the difference to buy an alternative. For everyone else, save yourself some pain and pay the extra for an alternative.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good but could be better! As the title says good but could be better! Over-all this is a robust mini board with all the feature's you need, feels solid and works well. However it has 1 label the RCD test label, no earth or neutral terminal labels. The knock-outs if I can call them that are more like smash outs and are lacking especially for side entry! I used a small punch which worked ok but its just a hassle sometimes you don't need! Seals and grommets supplied are of poor quality. Can someone please tell me why manufactures are putting these awful covers on their CU's that do not stay in an open position? I take it it has something to do with the vague possibility of someone leaving it open and the thing catching fire?? To sum up, yes I would buy it again as once installed it tested up well and looks surprisingly ok!

Can I add two additional circuits? Can I use standard MCBs in this unit?

Asked by: bicestergeorge
Hi, thank you for your product enquiry. The enclosure is designed to accommodate two further BG Electrical breakers (only BG breakers have been tested and certified as suitable for use) and the busbar has the capacity to connect them as well. It would be wise to total up all of the potential circuit loads to see if you need to upgrade the provided 63A RCD incomer to an 80A version though.
