Rated 5 out of 5 by from does the job used to replace a broken switch, seems robust enough, internal screws are fine no fiddly spaces. load and feed clearly marked if you have good vision otherwise wear your specs if unsure!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not worth the Price pulling the cord down feels very heavy and sounds not reliable .. it is still early days and I am worried if this is the situation of a new switch what will happen after a while of use?/ I can feel it is not going to last long.. I hope it proves me wrong , the problem is , it not easy to replace them , so no one would want a long guarantee as it costs time and money to replace it (money to pay labor and tassel) , instead I would personally go for a good quality and reliable product, and this does not look like one...

If the neon light remains switched on because the wires have been wired backwards does it matter?

Asked by: Kunal
The neon is supposed to indicate when the shower has power so really it should be wired correctly. Furthermore anything that is 'on' all of the time has a higher potential of causing a fire.

Can I connect 6mm cable. Descriptions states Terminals accepts 1mm and 2 x 2.5mm

In order to achieve the 45A I want to use 6mm cable. But the description says the terminals accept 1mm and 2 x 2.5mm. Is this a poor description? Or am I wrong?
Asked by: NeedAnIsolator
Hi NeedAnIsolator, Our spec for this switch has the terminal capacity as:- 3 x 4mm², 2 x 6mm², 1 x 10mm², or 1 x 16mm². Therefore the description has typographical errors.

is the neon power indicater light on all the time

Asked by: Scott1960
Hi Scott1960, The indicator light is connected to the Load terminals, so when wired correctly (permanent L and N in Feed terminals, controlled outputs in Load terminals) the switch will disconnect the light along with the device(s) being controlled. If the light stays on permanently, regardless of switch state, then it has been wired backwards.

Is this suitable as a direct replacement for the MK 50 A 1 Way pull cord switch

2nd MK switch has failed after only 2 years so looking for a suitable alternative.
Asked by: BAJM
Hi BAJM, It depends on the load which you are trying to control with the switch, a 45A switch has a maximum constant power capacity of 10.8kW (but it is always wise to give a 5-10% leeway to account for fluctuations in demand).

do i need a mounting box, is one supplied.if not which would you suggest

Asked by: stusdad
Hi stusdad, This switch does not come with a mounting box, we would suggest the 45mm deep 83819 box to allow for the diameter of cabling normally used with a 45A rated connection.
