Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product Bought to replace a faulty unit. This one, although not the cheapest, most closely matched the one it replaced, so it would fit in best with the other switches. It has a simple layout of terminals for wiring and fitted perfectly in place. I like the different colour switches to clearly identify the difference between the cooker switch and the socket switch.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product Sensible good size Live Ground Earth connectors, easy to access from top and bottom. Loved that it included 4 screw covers, so I did on other socket too, without realising when first installed and it was hidden behind socket!

May I permanently plug my fridge into this 13amp socket?

May I use permanently the 13amp socket for my fridge and wire the oven to the switch?
Asked by: tomecek
Hi tomecek, As long as you don't overload the socket (rated for 13A or 3120W / 3.12kW) then what you are actually plugging in makes no real difference.

can I use the socket without having to switch the cooker on also?

Do I need to have the cooker turned on to use the socket?
Asked by: KnightTemplar
Hi KinghtTemplar, The feeds in to the cooker switch & the socket are taken from the same place, meaning that they switch on/off separately, so yes you can use the socket without having to switch on the cooker.

Can I replace single cooker switch with this to enable cooker switch and 13 amp socket. Is wiring easy

Asked by: Mingster30
Hi Mingster30, Yes, providing you change the mounting box to accommodate this unit then it will be OK to change over as you intend. Wiring is exactly the same as the switch which you will be replacing, Live and Neutral Feed (In) plus Live and Neutral Load (Out) terminals clearly marked on the rear.

Can i use this for boiler electric thanks

Asked by: Stevenbengbeng
Hi, thank you for your product enquiry. The description `cooker switch' merely indicates the normal usage for such a product, is is not a restriction of any type. As long as your boiler is running at below the capacity of the switch mechanism (or the socket if connecting via a UK plug) then it will be OK for your requirements. 45A gives 10.8kW capacity (10800W) while 13A gives 3.12kW (3120W).

Wiring question

Hi my old cooker has a 6mm cable but my new cooker has a 13amp plug my question is can I wire a 6mm cable into a cooker switch with plug socket then plug the new cooker in any help would be much appreciated
Asked by: QWERTY59076
Hi, thank you for your product enquiry. It would certainly be possible to fit this British General 45A Double Pole Switch & 13A Switched Socket White onto a 6mm diameter cable (the terminals will take over double that size).
