Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Drain Rods The flexibility required to get into the deep, old manhole was my biggest apprehension. In the event, no problems at all gaining access, the job was completed very quickly. Outstanding performance. I would highly recommend this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good value rods fixed blockage At 3 pm I discovered we had a blocked foul sewer pipe. I thought I'd try to clear it myself before calling in the professionals. Screwfix to the rescue, I ordered these rods on the app and collected them within 20 minutes. They were very easy to screw together and remarkably good quality for the price. I put the 'corkscrew fitting' on the end and pushed them into the blocked pipe rotating and pulsing the rods in and out as I went. Within minutes the blockage was broken up and the pipe cleared. I was well chuffed to find a cheap and very quick solution to fix my blocked pipe. It was all done by 4pm, magic. Made my day. Well done Screwfix!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great rods Great rods from Bailey. You can’t go wrong. If you are not very confident using them then you should get the lockfast ones that can’t come undone whilst using them, the disadvantage is that you’ll need a spanner to put them together and to take them apart. With these rods all you need is a pair of grips to help disassemble them when you are pulling them back out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bailey 19mm Black Drain set Like most people, i ordered these as the drains were blocked and it was much cheaper than calling someone out, as long as you don't mind the smell. I had to order the drop scraper separately but with it I sorted the problem out in no time. Tip - like most people do, tape the rods together to save them coming loose!

Will these bend from ground level to drain level in a manhole( I can only stand above drain and not sure if they would bend to reach drain at BOTTOM of manhole) thanks

Asked by: Blabl

Can you use this through bends (90 degree elbow)?

I have pipes boxed in and need to clear a blockage but to get to it I would need to go through a 90 degree bend
Asked by: AyCee
no, you need un blocker tool.

Would these fit around a toilet u bend?

Asked by: PATTester579
No, specifically for rodding sewers, not pliable enough for that job, you would be better off with drain un- blocker tool, from this website too.

Are they flexible enough to use on a sink.

I have water backing up to the kitchen sink(ground level) it will drain but slowly. I have used a 2 meter spring rod but still no joy.
Asked by: Diyready
definitely not, you need un-blocker tool.

I bought some drain rods from screwfix 10years ago with brass threads. Would these fit on to the ones I have, common thread?

Asked by: Jimmy2times
Theres a Q&A later that probably answers your question. I'll just paste in the whole text for you here: "Q: Are these rods the same diameter and thread size as the blue set Product code 79897 A: Yes, they are the same diameter and thread size, the only difference being that the blue ones are of a better quality material than the black rod sets." Hope that's helpful!
