(2 products)Vernier callipers are a very precise measuring device typically used to make internal, external and depth measurements when working with wood or more commonly metal. A vernier often has two sets of jaws, one set known as the outside large jaws which are used to measure the external dimensions or thickness of an object, and the inside small jaws which are used to measure the internal dimensions of an object. Many vernier gauges also feature a depth probe used to measure the depth of holes in a workpiece.
