The tube is made from metal and generally has two usable ends, which cover the whole fastener head making contact around all sides. To turn the tube, a separate tommy bar or T-bar fits into holes drilled at right angles in the tube, which can be rotated and twisted to install or remove, improving leverage and also allowing access to fastener in confined spaces.
