Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bolt colour is different The illustration for this product is misleading. In the picture the bolt appears to be a similar colour to the body but on the two units that I purchased it has a yellow colouring which is completely different. It would not be so bad if the bolt disappeared into the handle when unlocked but it pokes out of the opposite side of the lock body and so is always in view. I think they look cheap and nasty, so will return for a refund.

The first one I bought shattered after being dropped from less than a meter onto a tiled floor and the screws are worse than useless. Three of them broke, one in the head, two in the shaft with the shaft of one shearing after it had been driven into the door itself, leaving me with a thumburn fixed with three screws. Absolute piece of garbage which nearly ruined a £700 door.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Fell apart in my hand ! Fell apart in my hand as I was showing it to the client. Not only that but it is a brushed steel finish that has a horrible yellow metal latch. Really poor.

Safety

Can the lock be opened from outside the door, for example if a child locks it from the inside but can't then open the door ?

Hello, No, this cant be unlocked from the outside as it is not the type of thumbturn that goes though the door using a spindle. It is screwed onto one side of the door (like a surface mounted bolt lock), so there is no way to open it form the other side. Thanks for using Q&A. [DG]

How far does the bolt protrude when in the locked position
