to add context I plan to run the armored cable from my main fuse box to an outhouse fuse box (weather proof) then run two circuits , one for lights and one for c6 to 8 plug sockets ? is 2.5 enough to take that load of should I aim for 4mm
There isn't a straight answer to this, and neither answer previously really tell you what you would need to know. Cable diameter determines overall load. 2.5mm2 cable should allow up to around 5kw comfortably, so it would depend on what you're running in your 'man cave'. If you plan on having any form of electric heater, go for 4mm or 6mm as 2.5mm would not be sufficient. You also need to take into account longitudinal length of cable and what you're housing it in to allow heat disputation.
I don't mean this rudely, but if you have to ask a question like that, get an electrician, have them install it and test it, too many injuries are caused by people thinking they're sparkies.
