Rated 4 out of 5 by from Did the job Good for removing surface rust and paint from metal.Did break up fairly quickly and deep dish shape makes it difficult to tighten onto angle grinder.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from prep wheel Purchased 2 for a job found that the wheel was too large and caught on grinder guard on my two grinders, also I couldn't tighten the retaining plate for the wheel as it’s too deep/thick for the spanner pegs to fit. Not used these yet so I can't say how they perform. not returned in the spares box !!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good for metal, not stone Have used these successfully to strip iron fireplaces so tried them on cut stonework of new house which has been masonry painted. Burned through 3 in 10 mins to. Cover only about 8 sq inches. Didn't damage the stone but neither the paint. Fine if your removing from metal. Or wood.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good performance poor life This disc shifts rust and mill scale faster and better than a twist knot brush, but wears out much faster. It's also very good for deburring steel fabrications and cleaning garden shears, limb loppers, and suchlike.

Can I use this to clean my tiled floor

Asked by: Mickey19891989
Hello. One concern is that if your tiles are glazed then that would also be removed. We always recommend testing on an inconspicuous area first. Hope that helps. Thank you for using Q&A. MH

Can the disc be used on a wet stone polisher to reduce the airborne dust?

Even with wearing a correctly fitted P3 dust mask I'm coughing for a few days after using these discs. Is it possible to use the discs on a "wet stone polisher" to reduce the amount of airborne dust?

my angle grinder spanner wont reach deep enough into the wheel to tighten properly (only one point makes contact), am i missing something, I have flipped the nut both ways

Asked by: alphabravo
Hi alphabravo, Our warehouse staff have advised that the internal depth of this wheel is approximately 18mm and so it is possible that it could be difficult to get the pins on the pin spanner in the holes on the disc fixing nut on some grinders although at the time of writing none of the product reviewers have mentioned this. Tilting the pin spanner should help. Thanks for using Screwfix Q&A. JT

Would this work on large flat surfaces?

Would this work to clean large flat surfaces like a painted concrete floor or brick wall? Or would a cup make a better contact area with the surface?
Asked by: MartinKS
Hello MartinKS, Every installation/usage is different due to the varying circumstances of the site and environment. Therefore we advise that you contact a local tradesperson who will be able to view and assess your particular requirements. They will be able to provide further advice for the installation/usage of the preperation wheel. Thank you for using Q&A.
