Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stop the Air Lock I was getting an air lock in a shower panel through what I suspect was a bit of back flow. Put one of these between the supply pipe and the inlet on the panel and it seems to have cured the air lock. Only time will tell.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Experienced DIYer Possibly more importantly than any other the other info and specs, is that it is made of metal. Make sure you buy washers for it, my recommendation is one rubber and one fibre washer at each end, left me with zero leaks.

If, especially, like me, you leave home for weeks on end, or your hot water boiler is fed from a tank. This small item will stop the back flow of contaminated water into the system. A small price to pay in order to keep you and your family safe.

Will this stop water coming out hose when switched off as leaking if not what will please

Hello, Thank you for your enquiry. This part is designed to prevent a shower hose basically sucking up water if say left immersed in a bath full of water and back into the water supply. It sounds like you will need to fit new fittings/seals to prevent your hose leaking. Hope that helps. Thank you for using Q&A. MH

Is this WRAS approved?

Does this safely prevent back flow contamination of a shower head that could be submerged in water? Does this eliminate the need of a retaining clip on the riser rail?

Hi DCPlumbing, As far as we are aware, this is not WRAS approved. It is normally fitted between the shower mixer and the shower hose to prevent possible back siphonage and contamination, not at the top end of the hose below the handset. I hope this information is of help to you.
