Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not for use with SKY Q I got this to tidy up behind the TV whilst decorating. Quality was good and conditions easy to use , but because it uses a Quadruplex socket it interferes with the sky signal and won't give you all the channels you had before. It was only after googling this that I found this out. It's a shame they do not have a note about the compatibility with sky q. Other wise it's a great multimedia socket

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Bad description for the item I bought this thinking I could everything into one 2 gang unit but once I looked at the back of the unit it was clear it has to work within a distribution setup, the description really needs to be accurate I'm going to be taking it back for a refund wasted my time on 2 trips to the store.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Read the description This items clearly states it's a Quadruplex in the title. This means that it accepts combined signals and splits them back out into the separate signals. This is a great item, lets you connect these five commonly used signals on one tidy 2G plate and without having to run 5 separate signal cables. Much as I'm all for DIY, It's not fair for products get bad reviews because people don't understand how to use them.

Sky and Telephone cables

I have two sky cables from the dish, together with a telephone extension cable entering the room, through an external wall, and they then go directly to the Sky box. Can I use this plate to connect the cables, and then use extensions to the box?

Can the phone connection become the BT master connection?

I'm getting BT hub and was told it had to connect to master socket but I'd like to buy this socket for behind the TV and connect my internet there is this possible?
Asked by: Rickochet
Yes this is fine. The reason BT install a master socket, is to ensure they have a point of reference in your premise, a point they will guarantee their service can work at its utmost. You can buy cheap equipment, sockets etc, that degrade their telephone broadband services & they do not want to work on "your equipment" you are responsible for that. SO...! so long as your wiring is in order it should be fine. Check the speed from the master first & compare it at the slave socket you are installing, to see if there is any loss of service.
