Butt joint into 12mm MDF boards
I would like to use these to make enclosed box shelves with a open front.
1.Will this work with 12mm MDF board to make butt joints without blowouts, splits or bulging?
2.Do these screws require a Pilot hole before application?

Thank you for your enquiry. MDF-Tite® will work perfectly in this application and whilst we believe it would work fine without a pilot hole, we would always recommend pre-piloting when uncertain to prevent any splits or bulging.

Hi, thanks for your enquiry, on the 40mm MDF-Tite the tolerance for the thread length is between 24 and 26mm. Hope this helps!

Why do these blow out the MDF sides
Not sure how a anyone makes these work. They blow out the sides of MDF. I normally use spax MDF fixings which have a much thinner shaft. Really hard to remove but don't damage the Sides

If you are driving close to the edge drillign a pilot hole will eliminate the problem.
