Rated 3 out of 5 by from Diamond drill bit Not the best or the worst. You may be able to drill 10 holes if you lucky on porcelain tiles . Keep the drill bit as cool as possible by dipping in water every 10 seconds and only use on tiles not for plaster or brick .

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Dissapointed Unlike many of the reviews, I was very disappointed with this Erbauer Diamond Tile bit. Screwfix state that it will Drill the Hardest Porcelain Tiles, but beware that on the packaging it only states Tile Drill bit with no mention of porcelain. After about an hour of drilling I managed a hole to a depth of about 3mm in a 10mm porcelain tile. The drill bit had no bite to it, and just felt that it was running smooth against the tile, resulting in a complete waste of time and money. I will request my money back, because the item has been wrongly described. The next day I purchased the Marcrist PG750X Dry Diamond Tile Drill Bit, which drilled my porcelain tiles with ease. Therefore if you have porcelain tiles I would recommend that you buy the Marcrist rather than the Erbauer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does the job Does what it says on the tin. Found ordinary drill bits would not make an impression on porcelain bathroom tiles. The Erbauer solved the problem. A bit expensive but worth it. Difficult to comment on reliability but no problems so far.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from blunt Drilled 11 holes and used water to try and prolong life of the bit, but lost all of its diamonds on the tip, down to metal now. Given the price and only 11 holes in 8mm porcelain, not good!

How is it self cooling, does it still need to be lubricated on porcelain tiles?

Asked by: PCZ1
Thank you for your enquiry. The technology of these drills means that lubrication is not necessary even with porcelain tiles. Hope that helps. Thank you for using Q&A. MH

is this drill bit suitable for drilling into concrete

Asked by: Anonymous
Hello Anonymous, This tile drill bit would not be suitable for use on concrete. For that we would advise using a masonry bit, here's a link to our masonry drill bits: http://www.screwfix.com/c/tools/drilling/cat5920038?cm_sp=managedredirect-_-pta-_-masonrydrillbit. Thank you for using Q&A.
