Rated 4 out of 5 by from Diamond drill bit ( porcelain) Very good clean cut and lasts well in 30 mm tiles Bought this thinking it would blunt really quick. But was plesently surprised.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Diamond drill bit Needed to drill several 10mm thick porcelain tiles, managed to drill two holes slowly, third was a real struggle after which it was "blunt", took back to store, explained to Screwfix team member situation, who replaced it. Although that particular drill bit did not meet expectation really pleased with Screwfix support.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Worked Fine For Me Used to drill 4 holes only in relatively thin indoor ceramic tiles in order to mount a cooker hood. No major issues experienced. Fairly expensive and awkward to use accurately but you do get the hang of it and can always widen the hole if your accuracy is off as you should be fixing to the masonry or wood underneath the tiles in any event.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Very Disappointing Given the price, I had high hopes for this product. However, it made very heavy weather of drilling 4 holes through a large high quality ceramic tile to mount a bathroom cabinet.. I was only 2/3 of the way through the first hole when I noticed the head of the bit deforming. I was not leaning heavily on the drill and was pausing frequently. Screwfix were brilliant and exchanged it for a replacement with no issue. The rest of the holes literally took hours to complete, especially the final one because clearly the bit had already virtually worn out. How this bit can be described as self sharpening is extraordinary. One good feature is the self cooling, I was using a corded drill and did not want to keep dipping a bit in water to keep it cool In summary: poor value, poor performance verging on unfit for purpose for thick ceramic tiles.

Is this suitable for drilling holes in a glass door?

Asked by: Rickski
Hello Rickski, Yes, this should be fine. At the time of writing, 3 customer reviews state that they successfully drilled glass with this product. Some form of drill guide, for example our Product Code 84524, is recommended to prevent the drill from wandering. Thank you for using Screwfix Q&A.

Can this be used to drill Sandstone Slabs?

As yet I've not managed to drill holes in our sandstone slabs. Will one of these do the trick?
Asked by: Skippykangaroo
Hi Skippykangaroo, This drill bit is designed for use with tiles. If you are drilling through Sandstone slabs, I would suggest looking at a masonry drill bit such as those featured in the link I have included. https://www.screwfix.com/c/tools/drill-bits/cat12140001?drillbittype=masonry&cm_sp=managedredirect-_-pta-_-masonrydrillbit Thanks for using Q&A

Will this fit most drills?

I just have a cheap drill as I don't need to use it very often, is this likely to fit?
Asked by: Red512
Hello, Unfortunately, without knowing your model of drill I cant say for certain as to whether this will fit. But this drill bit does have an ordinary hex shank, which is one of the most common shank types drills take, so i'd imagine it would fit most drills. Thanks for using Q&A. [DG]
