Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very useful indeed I'm changing each rad in my house & putting these on wherever I go. Granted, I've got the floor up and am resiting pipework and the rads but these make future maintenance and decorating so much easier and quicker. One room I fitted a nice Stelrad 1400x450 rad that sat perfectly central under the window - sods law the drop down for the pipework was bang on a double thickness joist one side, so rather than pull a dog leg with benders, one of these gave it just enough distance to rise up past it. Marvellous.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super useful - fit to all rads I now fit one of these draining tails to every radiator I fit. If you ever have to work on your heating you'll appreciate the usefulness of being able to easily drain the system at each rad with no mess. Need to change a rad? No problem - close the valves, open the bleed screw and drain it using this tail, then just swap the rad, open the valves and bleed the new rad. No need to drain the system, no freezing pipes, no mess, no fuss. If they were a little cheaper they'd be perfect. If you're fitting a new radiator, or new valves or TRVs, then fit one of these. The amount of time and hassle it could save you in the future is easily worth the cost.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from remove nut and olive if u need the review above had issues with the nut not fitting to the valve he had, why not remove the supplied nut and olive and use the nut from the valve you wish to fit, I suspect that the valve he had was one of those with a course thread that seem to still exist out and about. I have not used these for ages and purchased two this week, they are sooo much better that the similar one that have a radiator key head to undo, they snap or round off! this one has a good slot for a screwdriver and of course you always have one of those in your tool box.

Replacing old radiators

I am replacing pressed steel radiators with a width of 1035mm (1.35m). Can I replace with a 1000mm and will this make up the difference?
Asked by: Tryeverything
Yes the drain off tail piece will make up the 35mm you need.

Which key fits the dotp

Hi. Do you supply the key to fit the drain off since the standard radiator bleed valve key is a larger square and will not open the valve?
Asked by: Goat2
No, you would need to use a adjustable spanner or adjustable grips.

Are these compatible with other brand TRV??

Ie: will it work with other makes of TRV?
Asked by: GazSE14
Yes, providing the TRV has a 15mm thread.

Is the drain off screw located in part were hose slips on, or is it at top of fitting

Asked by: Phil5913
The manufacturer states that the screw is at the top of the valve and of course this is true unless you buy the Australian version pictured. Their version of the drain-off has the screw at the bottom and drain-off at the top, because down there, water runs uphill towards the center of the earth. As you will be aware, Oz water circles the plughole the other way too, unless of course, it's being viewed from our perspective, i.e. underneath. All of this plays havoc with multi-national sanitary and plumbing suppliers that have to get the right product to hemispheric-ally disparate customer-bases. Be kind to SF Counter Staff, they are dealing with level of stress on a daily basis. Slapt0p Maintenance and Sharp Objects Manager Fletcher Memorial Home (for overgrown infants)
