Rated 5 out of 5 by from Expensive, but worth it My last budget router expired as they often do and I bought this one after talking to fellow engineers and Internet review. It was expensive, but so much better than my previous one. It is heavier than budget models, but solidly put together. The plunge action is very smooth and the soft start a real bonus. I had a new (unused) set of 1/2" cutters (none provided with the tool) and was very impressed withe the ease of cutting. The variable speed allows you to experiment to find the best speed for the material and the cut. The depth and parallel adjustments are easy and precise. Although at this point, it has to be said that the instructions are not great for someone who has never used a router before. I haven't fitted it to a router table yet, but this is an excellent choice for serious DIY and trade use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Chunky router does good Supe machine. As stated this is a heavy duty bit of kit, but looks like that'll pay dividends in terms of working life. AS long as I have the muscles to use it. I see someone else used it on a bench which may also be worth trying Having the change of collets so it can ytake 1/4 inch as well as 1/2 tools is a useful bones. Really recommended anyway

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Work Horse router table router I have had one of these for over ten years. I used to use it hand held, it is a monster hand held, other smaller trimmer routers are much easier and safer to use for most small routing jobs. This now lives in a router table and has done tons of heavy work for years. A great router to put in a table. If you can afford it buy a Festool OF1400 To use hand held, powerful enough but easy to control.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from First class router Bought this to replace my ageing Erbauer which was falling apart by degrees. Everything on this machine is solid and well made. The fence on the Erbauer which was poorly designed and made of plastic used to flex whereas on the Dewalt it is made of metal and rock solid. Also the Erbauer had too much play in the plunge mechanism and the collets never quite centralised the cutter, whereas this is just superb. Expensive, yes, but I get the feeling I wont ever need to replace it and it is simply a pleasure to use.
