Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product It's a dimmer switch suitable for use with dimmable LED lights. What more can I say?

Rated 3 out of 5 by from 50 / 50 on this one Bought three and had to replace one. One of the units was ok when installed but developed a wobbly switch and would not dim because of it. Only lasted two days etc… here’s hoping the others don’t follow the same fate. Screw fix changed …. No problems there etc.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ideal dimmer for LED lamp Good quality product at a good price. Very easy to fit.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Cheap - but it shows A cheap dimmer switch, but unfortunately it shows. Feels sturdy enough but makes an uncomfortably loud buzzing sound, and LEDs flicker annoyingly even at moderate levels of dimming. Ended up replacing it with a more expensive switch after only two weeks as the noise was getting on my nerves.

I have fitted this like another customer with 5 x Luceco F600 LED downlights. Even adjusting the Pot switch there is a constant buzzing coming from the switch - more so when dimmed. Tried with 1 to 5 lights and all the same noise.

Asked by: TaysideTiler
Hi TaysideTiler, For LED loads the potentiometer should be turned fully anti-clockwise, giving a 5-50W load range for Leading Edge dimmable LED lighting. If the potentiometer is anywhere other than fully anti-clockwise then the minimum level will be around 60W (or roughly double your circuit load with the 5 lights) and so underloading could cause buzzing, flickering, a refusal to dim, or a combination of these effects.

BG Dimmer Installation.

The double that controls the kitchen/dining still switches the light on and off but the dimmer will not switch the kitchen light on itself unless the double switch on the other side of the room is "on". Ideas?
Asked by: RandleMcM
Hi RandleMcM, It sounds like the double switch is acting as an isolator for the kitchen dimmer switch, so there may be a crossed pair of wires somewhere in the installation.

Lights Flickering with buzzing sound

Installed the led dimmer switch. It was all working fine and had a very smooth dimmable functionality with a very low negligible buzzing sound. After 3 -4 weeks, suddenly the bulbs are flickering in both low and high end with a louder buzzing noise
Asked by: SMbfd
Hi SMbfd, Usually an audible buzzing from a dimmed circuit, and/or flickering, is an indication of an inappropriate load either because the dimmer is not in the correct mode (adjuster on the rear fully anti-clockwise for LED, or fully clockwise for all other lighting types), because the dimmer is over or under loaded (load ranges vary for different lighting types), or because the lighting wants a different dimming type (our dimmers are Leading Edge type). This can sometimes not be evident to begin with, only becoming noticeable as components wear in to their normal operating ranges. If you wish to discuss this further with us, and/or provide information on the lighting being dimmed, then please feel free to contact us at: technical.support@bgelectrical.co.uk

I have fitted 6 x Luceco F600 LED downlights using this type of dimmer switch but when the switch is on there is a constant buzzing Coming from the switch. When off the noise stops. All lights work correctly and dim with no flicker. Is the Switch faulty o

Asked by: Boycie31
Hi Boycie31, There is a potentiometer screw (small white plastic screw) on the rear of the dimmer module, this should be turned fully anti-clockwise for LED loads and will thus give a 5-50W load range for the lighting it is controlling. If you haven't got this adjusted fully anti-clockwise then the dimmer circuitry will be under-loaded and hence could cause buzzing or flickering from the lights or itself (for the buzzing at least).
