Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy fit I bought these to replace my twist terminals and connection boxes I have not used them yet,but using scrap wire for practice I found them very easy to use

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Handy Connectors Easy to use, reliable. Really handy when replacing ceiling roses for class 2 light fittings.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super useful I've been using these for a couple of years or so. They are unbelievably helpful when installing lights. e.g. when changing from a pendant with it's standard ceiling mounted junction box to most light fittings which never take into account ring mains, switch cabling etc. I use these to replicate the joining/passthrough of cables which normally join in the ceiling junction. Flex can then be used from there to the fitting on the 3rd connection. I find that standard solid core cable conductors go in easily and because it's just push to fit, you have a hand free rather than trying to juggle connector, cables and screwdriver. I've sometimes had difficulty (not sure why) getting the third single connection to grab the conductor easily. But this is probably just a knack and mostly they work fine and feel secure once on.

will this connection take a 2.5mm wire as i need it used in conjunction with the wagobox light junction box

Asked by: rescuemedic
The connector takes 2 x up to 2.5mm conductor on the installation side and 1 x up to 2.5mm on the lighting side. The Wagobox light is designed for these.

Can these be used for connecting stranded cable to all ways

Asked by: Njw1967
NO you can only insert stranded on one side. Please look at 224-201 or 221-413 as an alternative for stranded from all cores.

A bit confused

The photos only show two wires in each but you say this is for 3. do you have a good guide online anywhere?
Asked by: MrBoy
224-112 has 2 solid conductors from one side and can take a solid / stranded conductor from the other side hence 3 wires. You can find more details on WAGO.com

Enquiring if this is suitable

Can this be used to connect at the back of a illuminated mirror to the mains cable from the wall, as there is limited space to fit a connecting box?
Asked by: Lynn203
Sure is, provided the bulbs don't exceed 24A in total.

Will these work with GU10 lamp holder pigtails that come with a pre terminated bootlace type ferrule on the high temp cable end that would go into the flexible side of the 224 connector ?

Asked by: Muppet104
Thank you for your question. This would depend on the style and size of the bootlace ferrule. If the uninsulated part of the ferrule is the same length as the strip length for the connector (9 to 11mm), the cable is between up to 1.5mm² (AWG 16) and the insulted part fitted into the cable entry hole, then the ferrule would fit the connector.
