Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not good Got the 4 x 50 mm version for loft boarding job. Far too many snapped at the point of countersinking. One every eight I'd estimate. Won't buy again. Turbo gold better.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Don't split floorboards I like these screws. I had squeaky floorboards of an old house to secure. These screws worked really well - no pilot holes needed and they didn't split the wood even when I was quite close to the wood edge. They are well designed.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Avoid As many other recent bad reviews state the heads seem to round extremely easily as they are made poorly and of inferior metal and the provided bits are of poor quality so this leads to all sorts of nightmares. The bit design is a joke. What does the little dowel bit do apart from decrease the amount of positive contact inside the screw head?? I bought a trade pack and they are being swaped for turbo gold. Used for a day and caused lots of unneeded stress. One positive was that they snapped very easily with the tap of a hammer, so once you manage to pry apart the two pieces of wood you were trying to fix, the screw snapped with ease. These rate No 2, close behind the toffee ones you get in door closer packs as the worse screws I have used in my 25 years in the trade. No wonder they were on offer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent product Bought these to restock my van, would hesitate in recommending them, easily driven in and hold pieces together well. Added bonus was a driver bit in every box,

Where has the Lost-tite screw range gone?

I saw the lost-tite on a youtube and have since found the range of Tite-fit etc but no-one seems to be stocking the lost-tite (lost head) range anymore. Are they still being made?
Asked by: Anonymous
Thank you for your enquiry. I can confirm Lost-Tite® is most certainly still in production and has recently become one of our highest selling brands. Unfortunately, due to a large increase in demand, the final quarter of last year saw Tite® range out of stock for a period but we can confirm, we are back on track, have good stocks and it should now once again be available through a number of Retailers.

Is it best to put a screw in for every joist? Therefore only screwing one edge of the board as the other edge is in the groove of the previous? Hope I’m making sense

Asked by: Wesley34
Thanks for your enquiry. Yes we would recommend screwing at each joist point and only in the tongue of the board. Hope this helps.

Wrong image for product

Can I suggest you show the correct image for this product as it is very miss-leading. Had I not read the reviews I may have purchased them only to find the 25mm versions don't have the features as advertised on your webpage.
Asked by: Milleniumaire

Can they be used with wall plugs for fixing skirting board ?

Asked by: Anonymous
Yes these can be used with a wall plug. Just make sure you use the correct size of wall plug for the size of screw and the screw and the hole are longer than the wall plug

Securing floorboards

Are these suitable for screwing down 19mm tounge and groove floorboards to joists?
Asked by: Kevin100
I would recommend a 4x50mm Screw-Tite screw. Or even our 4.2x45mm Floor-Tite screw which have been designed for all types of flooring .If you are looking for a hidden fixing why not try our 3.5x45mm Tongue-Tite screw
