Rated 1 out of 5 by from Chain blunts easily I have bought this to cut down 11 conifer trees with about 5” trunk first cut great rest just grinding it’s way though tried stone bu no real difference so bought another chain same thing stone looks well used but only used a couple of times as spec and oil is ok so spent extra £30 on chain only to end up using dewalt 18v recipe saw to do the job which it did . Very discounted with saw the stone end seems to clog up with cutting quickly and kept checking for clearance maybe a bad saw but going tthrough 2 chains in 2 days = 11 conifers works out expensive correction 3 trees rest with recip saw. Looked at YouTube vids before and CS1500 seemed up to job so might have to return or contact screwfix as something not right.

Why won’t the chainsaw cut straight (Pulls to the left) only after a couple uses?

Chain saw cuts at an angle. Even though it’s a new chain and I have sharpened it using the sharpener
Asked by: Scottydont
Hi, the chain could have possibly cut enequally, and therefore it would have been sharpened unequally. Cutting teeth on one side of the chain could have also broken off, meaning the chain will cut unequally. The chain could also possibly be on backwards. Please could you try re-seating the chain if so, and contact us at online@screwfix.com if you are still having issues. Many Thanks.

Chain blunt

I only bought yesterday to cut some felled logs I went to use this morning and chain blunt looked at chain and teeth all worn
Asked by: LockdownGardener
Hi, i'm sorry to hear that you have had an issue with your CS1500. Our CS1500 PowerSharp chain should not blunt after just a few logs, are you holding down the red sharpening lever and running the saw for 2-3 seconds to return the edge to the chain? Are you cutting tough wood which may have foreign material (stones/nails) embedded inside it? Are you cutting near the ground/removing a stump? Please contact us at online@screwfix.com so we can help you further. Many Thanks,
