Rated 3 out of 5 by from Better paint exist I had not choice in product as it was Sunday. Needed a bathroom/kitchen paint. I had not bought Dulux for a few years but had a recent experience with a wood paint which I thought as good. So I decided to give it a try. I tried other trade paint in the past and I always ended up preferring them to Dulux - the product does not convince me at all. It really need two GOOD coats of paint to get a result that is ok. I have similar results with only one coat of other paints and much better once the 2nd had been added. Buy another make if you can!

Use standard emulsion before apply dulux bathroom?

Can I use other standard emulsion, e.g., dulux matt standard, as 1st coat before applying dulux bathroom+ as top coat? In the fresh-skimmed ceiling/wall, do I need additional primer before 1st coat?
Asked by: aiyo
After the plaster has dried, you can use this paint or a Dulux emulsion (diluted with 10 -15% water) as a mistcoat to the bare plaster - this will act as the primer, before applying 2 full coats of the Bathroom+ paint.

I would like to use this on my bathroom ceiling which has been plastered. 6 months ago. Can I use it watered down for fist coat or do I need a primer first? If I need a primer which type do you recommend?

Asked by: Bettina
Hi you are correct we would recommend thinning down the Dulux Bathroom Soft Sheen by 10% to seal the surface and finish with two full coats . No other primer required.

Do I need to use stain block to cover water damage before applying bathroom paint

Asked by: Brianr22
Hi Brian, Yes if you have stains from water damage it is important to use a stain stop firstly to obliterate these before emulsion this will prevent any bleed through.
