Rated 5 out of 5 by from Open and Closed Went a bit overboard with the hinge size and bought some 4" ones originally, but these 3" ones were perfect for my cheapy eggbox toilet door. Good finish, smooth action and screws were good.

would this hinge fit a 20mm thick leaf shutter?

I can see the overall width of the hinge is 51mm but presume the bearings are included so need to know how wide the actual plate is. Thanks

Hello, Thank you for your enquiry. That dimension is 21mm. Hope that helps. Thank you for using Q&A.

Will these hinges rust if used externally for casement windows?

Asked by: Lurchie
Just a comment on what the manufacturer said. The manufacturer most likely has to say this for legal reasons. Generally 201 stainless will be fine for outdoor use, however it's not rated for 'structural' outdoor use, it can eventually rust and pit mainly due to it's low nickel content. The hinge might rust and fail, but you'll probably be long dead by then! For example the pots and pans in your kitchen are most likely 201 stainless. Ours certainly aren't rusty!
