Multi-Sharp Water MS3001 Wet Stone Chisel & Plane Blade Sharpener (2169H)

Strong, glass-filled nylon construction. Uses re-circulating water to eliminate over-heating of the blade edge and loss of steel temper (blueing). Water-cooling is acknowledged by professionals to hone the finest edges. High quality aluminium oxide grinding wheel sharpens 50+ chisels based on 1"/25mm width. Grinding wheel is replaceable for longer tool life. Features a tool rest which provides a firm base for re-pointing and re-edging a variety of small tools such as cold chisels, bradawls, screwdrivers, centre-punches, scribers, wood carving / turning tools, gouges etc. Marked angles on the rest indicates the tip angle. Chisel clamp accurately holds the blade at the selected angle for a precision-ground edge. Traditional leather strop supplied to remove any burr for a razor-sharp edge. Any domestic electric drill suitable as power source.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Space saving Sharping Tool This tool works well provided you have a little patience. It does give a good finish but takes a little more time than a huge whetstone sharpener. Its size is ideal for making your own "mini bench" that allows the tool to be moved out of the way when not in use. Very economical if you do not have a large collection of tools to keep sharp.

Use to mitre a ceramic wall tile?

Would this tool be able to mitre a ceramic wall tile? I'm told it can be done using a carburundum stone if used with care so would this tool allow me to do this.

Using the TOOL REST with the product, you probably could do this – with care and skill. But obviously we can’t accept any responsibility for damage to the tile(s), or to the MS3001 Sharpener. Recommend goggles.

How do you manage to power your drill while sliding chiesel side to side?

The MS3001 is fixed down onto a board (screws provided), and the power drill attached to it. Thus both Sharpener and power drill are firmly fixed down. Then the chisel can be easily sharpened from side to side without the whole assembly moving

Hi, You can use a Cordless Rechargeable Battery Drill, but it needs to be able to run at least 1200 rpm thank you.
