Rated 3 out of 5 by from Limited range W i Fi extender Works OK but these 13amp metal fronted outlet Wi Fi extenders an have inherent design limitation. Using facia mounted antennas mounted on earthed metal front plates is always going to limit range and present a degree of directivity to this sort of product. If the antenna and front plate faces the direction of the router it may work up to15m. If it doesn't or like me you are using a metal back box, then the antenna will be shielded from the router by the earthed metal work and you will have to get much closer to receive a suitable signal, in the order of no more than 5m. After that the range will be much increased, but only to the front and side of the front plate. Bear this in mind and this could be a reasonable solution to extending the range of your Wi Fi.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Works well for a while Bought one of these sockets and easy to fit. Not to easy to st up on a Vodafone Router. You have to go into it's own setup app through you mobile phone. Look for Advanced and set up the router password etc there. Then it will connect. Range to router is best to pop it on an upstairs socket as you get a wider beam coverage. 12 months down there line they start losing connection constantly. Only way to fully reset is turn the 32 amp main socket power switch off for 10 seconds. So for the money and all the hassles. Not worth bothering with till they sort out the bugs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very good product I purchased this socket outlet after suffering months of poor Wifi within one half of my property. I was a bit sceptical at the time as i've never had a reliable repeater for Wifi, however i am pleasantly surprised how this works. Although programming of the socket is better by the web site i cannot fault this product.

Advice not a Question - How Wi-Fi works.

Wi-Fi extenders are what they say, they extend the signal they receive. Tthey can't create a new super strong signal back to the router. So they need to placed where they can receive a strong signal.
Asked by: Brozzy

Does each socket need to be in range of the router or can they be daisy chained?

I have a long thin property with thick internal walls and the router at one end :-( Can I use a series of these sockets daisy chaining off of each other to get a signal to the other end of the property?
Asked by: FatKidAtTheBack
Hello FatKidAtTheBack, No, these can't be daisy chained. If you're needing to get wireless throughout the property and there's thick walls you might like to look at the ethernet over power systems that turn the electrical cabling in the property into ethernet cables. Thank you for using Q&A

How many of these WiFi repeater sockets can connect to 1 WPS router? How many can I install in one home?

Asked by: Leftrightgoodnight
Hello Leftrightgoodnight, As many as needed although normally only one is required. If you are installing more than one then you will need to put the remaining sockets into holiday mode during the set up process. Thank you for using Q&A

Can this go down garden in my summer house and pick up my wi fi

Asked by: Pauline1234
Hello Pauline1234, We are unable to say. This will depend on your provider and their bandwidth strength, as well as the distance your summer house is compared to the router. However you will be able to install this in your summer house. Thank you for using Screwfix Q&A. A.K.C.
