Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect low cost solution Had to repair (a cowboys attempt at) flashing on a conservatory roof. Flash band provided a cheaper alternative to traditional flashing. Went on well, just remember to use primer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from FLASHBAND - Flashing Roll I have used the narrower Flashband before successfully and this was the first purchase and use of the 220mm wide Flashband. It is important to prepare the surfaces first using Flashband Primer. Again a simply process of painting areas and leaving to dry and so then ensuring a good bond with FlashBand. Flashband is easy to apply and it is a good idea to use a decorators roller to ensure firm and tight adhesion and no leaks. A great and reliable product the does what it says and last a long time in use

How long can you expect it to last under normal conditions?

Asked by: Lewyb
Unfortunately we cannot give a guarantee regarding the longevity of our products. However, if properly applied we can suggest 15 years typically but potentially longer. The reason we do not have a manufacturers guarantee is because we have no control of the conditions of application.

Can this product be used on plastic

I want to repair a small crack on my outdoor waterbutt and wondered if I could just use this product and tape over the hole. Anyone use this product on plastics, or recommend something else that would allow me to seal up some holes
Asked by: Anonymous
The Evo-Stik Flashband Grey is a self adhesive flashing tape with a special grey lacquer finish on top and a resin modified bitumen on the underside. The product is primarily designed for suitable roofing applications where it can be applied to materials such as roof felt, concrete, asphalt and wood as well as some plastics such as UPVC and polycarbonate. However it is not suitable to be applied to a water butt to repair a small crack, firstly because the water butt is likely to be made of either polyethylene or polypropylene to which the Flashband will not provide a serviceable bond and secondly with such an application, the water will be pushing from the inside outwards against the bond line for which the product is not suitable.

Will the Bostik Flashing stick to rough cast/Harling?

Asked by: Portucale
The Bostik Flashing Strip Grey is a self adhesive tape with a special grey lacquer finish on top and a resin modified bitumen on the underside. In general the product can be applied to various materials including wood, concrete, roof felt, lead, and UPVC among others. However any surface it is applied to needs to flat and so it is not suitable for application to rough or undulating surface such as roughcast.
