Rated 5 out of 5 by from FLASHBAND - Flashing Roll I have used the narrower Flashband before successfully and this was the first purchase and use of the 220mm wide Flashband. It is important to prepare the surfaces first using Flashband Primer. Again a simply process of painting areas and leaving to dry and so then ensuring a good bond with FlashBand. Flashband is easy to apply and it is a good idea to use a decorators roller to ensure firm and tight adhesion and no leaks. A great and reliable product the does what it says and last a long time in use

Will it stick edge of roofing felt onto a brick wall

Flat roof on top of a garage with a brick wall around the edge. Felt on the roof is old and has separated at the sides. Can this be used to seal the felt to the walls and to cover the cracks in the felt? Do I need to use the primer?
Asked by: JK437
The Bostik Flashband Grey is a self adhesive flashing tape with a special grey lacquer finish on top and a resin modified bitumen on the underside. The product can bond to brick as long as it is not too rough and is sound and it will bond to sound roof felt. In both cases the Flashband Primer will need to be applied first and allowed to dry before applying the Flashband and the product can cover cracks in roof felt although they must be no more than 3 mm wide. However the product is designed for sealing only and is not designed for fixing or bonding anything in place so consequently the roof felt will need stabilising and fixing to the wall first if de bonded possibly by using the Bostik Feltfix Roof Felt Adhesive.

Will flashband stick to lead flashing

Asked by: Guineapig
The Bostik Flashband is a self adhesive flashing tape with a special grey lacquer finish on top and a resin modified bitumen on the underside, The product will bond to lead that is of a sound nature and clean, dust free and free of contamination such as moss and lichen. A primer is not required for suitable non porous surfaces such as lead however the surface temperature needs to be of at least 5 ° C.

CAN YOU PAINT OVER FLASHBAND ? IF SO WHAT PAINT WOULD U USE PLEASE,THANK U.

Asked by: VERONICA
Thank you for your enquiry regarding the above. You can paint Bostik Flashband with most types of paints. It is best to thoroughly clean the area then apply a very thin coat follow with another very thin coat once the first coat is dry. Note, however, that the paint may be stained in places by the bitumen. I am sorry that we have not been able to answer in a reasonable time. For some reason a number of these enquiries have gone astray and they have only just been located.

Do you need to use the primer or is it OK to use on its own? Thank you

The Bostik Flashband is a self adhesive flashing tape with a special grey lacquer finish on top and a resin modified bitumen on the underside. The primer is not required for non porous surfaces such as metalwork polycarbonate or UPVC plastic, but it is required for porous surfaces such as concrete, brick, wood as well as roofing felt.

Is Bostick Flasband suitable for use with Corolux PVC corrugated roofing?

Asked by: CarpetMan47
No. I tried and would not stick well. I could make it stick but could also pull it back off. Even tried with the special paint.... Made it worse
