Rated 4 out of 5 by from A Good Screw Very sharp point, no pilot hole required. Bugle head sinks nicely into the plasterboard surface, but don't overdo it! One word of caution - you will inevitably pick up tiny metal splinters from the sharp thread in your finger tips, so have a magnifying glass and a sewing needle close by.

use case compared to item 15354

why would these be chosen over EASYDRIVE PHILLIPS BUGLE UNCOLLATED DRYWALL SCREWS 3.5 X 25MM 1000 PACK (15354)? i understand the thread is different but both are designed and marketed as securing plasterboard to wood.
Asked by: lilili
Hello Lilili, The choice is down to personal preference between the 2, item 15345 will drive into the material faster due to its twin thread however this speed may not be best for a beginner due to the reaction required to stop which is where this item would be better. Thankyou for using Q&A

Cement board screws

Hi Are the drywall screws Suitable for cement boards?
Asked by: Seanfz
Hi Seanfz, These screws should not be used with cement board because the lime and cement in the board can cause them to corrode. There are special highly corrosion-resistant Ruspert-coated screws available for cement board, but unfortunately, at the time of writing, we do not stock them. Thanks for using Screwfix Q&A. JT

whats the benefit over course thread and standard thread plasterboard screws

Asked by: Girraffe777
Hello, Thank you for using Q&A. Coarse threads are more resistant to stripping and cross threading because they have greater flank engagement. Coarse threads install much faster as they require fewer turns per unit length. Finer threads are stronger as they have a larger stress area for the same diameter thread, so it depends on your application i.e. courser threads are ideal for fixing plasterboard. Hope that helps.
