Rated 5 out of 5 by from Craftiness Perfect for my purposes, which is small scale one-off craft pieces. My plumbing blowtorch would have been too big, and my small butane soldering torch too small. Seems it’s built to DREMEL’s usual standard so I’m not expecting any reliability issues. Prompt service from SCREWFIX as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dremel Versaflame This is not the cheapest but you get what you pay for. Cheaper ones have a habit of bursting into flames and are down right dangerous. Great tin to keep together and very well made. I would recommend you spend that bit extra as it's definitely worth it for safety alone. Recommended.

Can I do a creme brûlée with this?

This is a serious question, I’m considering buying something like this for the kitchen but open to buying something that I can use for DIY projects too.

As a chef myself I can confirm that this is exactly the type of torch that I've seen used by the executive chef who taught me his creme brûlée, and subsequently that I used for the same. He had an off brand one, but it functioned the same for this purpose.
