Rated 1 out of 5 by from Premium brand - Poor quality Looks stylish, cover awkward to remove once installed. 1st one did a great job for a couple of weeks, then the fan started making a noise, bearings I think. Screwfix were great and exchanged it without quibble. Couldn’t believe it when the replacement started making a noise after 3 weeks. Replaced it with a cheaper Steeple product from an electrical distributor, which doesn’t look as stylish but was easier to fit and after 2 months is working great. On inspection of the faulty xpelair I found that one of the fan blades had broken off, throwing it out of balance. I’ve installed other Xpelair products without problems but I won’t be using this particular one again.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not ‘Simply Silent’ at all Works fine but was very loud and the client has asked me to change. Purchased plenty of the 100mm versions which are quiet and good quality. This 150mm versionnis just too loud.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not Great I bought this fan and thought that it was going to be a good after looking at the spec well the first one the timer over run didn't work at all so took that back, screwfix staff were efficient as always and replaced it. Second one didn't even power up and now I am just about to return the third one as it just starts up randomly at all times of day and night. also the build quality is not great the fixing points are brittle the circuit board just drops out and id defiantly say its not as quite as stated.

Wiring

I have purchased the DX150TS model and wired it per diagram. Live to L, neutral to N and it does not work. Does it require a connecting wired from T to L per the diagram?

Is this Fan two speed. I fitted one recently and speed settings doesnt work

What vent goes with this fan and preferred hole size

Which vent is suitable for the outside wall? And I have 750mm thick stone walls which will need diamond drilling to cut through- what size hole is required for 150mm ducting - presumably 6" will be too tight?

Is this fan double insulated?, and therefore doesn't require an earth connection?

Asked by: Imzz
Hi there. I can confirm the fan is double insulated and does not require an earth connection. There is an Earth ‘parking terminal’ on the fan’s PCB, that can be used if an Earth wire is in the cabling used, but an Earth is not required. We hope this helps.
