Rated 5 out of 5 by from Spot on for snagging! I was a bit sceptical at first but my son bought one for his job (he's a painter) and he thought I would get a lot of use from it. I have a few similar tools but none that can be used with a hand saw. I've always used a bevel and chopsaw but to be honest if I'm working up flights of stairs or just installing a few lengths of board I try to avoid carrying the chopsaw so took a punt on this. Absolutely glad I did! Think of it as a brilliant little adjustable mitre box with a brain, not a replacement for your chopsaw. It's great for all angles and if you know your way around a hand saw (I did my apprenticeship before chopsaws were all the rage) and don't mind a bit of elbow grease you'll love it. I particularly like the chopsaw feature (mine is the new version that has this) I use that for external mitres and it saves a few minutes of bevel work. The only thing I would say is that if you want to do a compound mitre you'll have to line your skirting up against the corner and mark the top and bottom on the face of the skirting and sit the jig on a skew. It's an extra step and not as easy to hold as when doing a regular mitre but it's a small price to pay for the portability of it. I'd also like to see some way to protect it from being scratched by the saw because it's a thing of beauty when you open the case! Overall I won't throw away my chopsaw but if you frequently fit bits of skirting or mitre flat timber it's definitely worth having, especially with the new chopsaw function!!
