Rated 2 out of 5 by from Tricky Screws Half-way through a decking project Screwfix were out of stock on regular green/brown screws so I had to buy these stainless steel ones instead. 500 brown screws went into the decking without a single broken screw or stripped screw head. On my third stainless steel screw the head stripped. Applying more pressure on the impact driver reduces the chance of stripping the screw head but then they quite often bend. They're usable with care but a lot more hassle than the regular screws, so I certainly wouldn't use again.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Fine if you're careful Felt compelled to leave a review as there aren't many stainless screws on the market at this price point. Had the same problems as others mention. They are VERY soft and the head will burr rapidly if you slip at all. They bend easily too. Biggest problem is that they don't seem to have any torsional strength. If the tip hits anything harder like a knot, they just snap in half just above the thread - making them a pain to remove! However, with a little care I've lost very few. Pre-drilling about 3.5mm for the shank is essential. Use a low torque setting on your driver and stop if you feel any resistance. Confident they will perform in place and should last.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not Impressed I used these screws on a small deck that I built. The head on these screws are very soft and when used with an impact driver, they get damaged too easily. I've now got lots of damaged screw heads that I won't be able to retrieve. Next time, I'll spend more on a better quality product.

Can these be used with drywall?

I need to fix some 62.5mm thick insulated plasterboard to battens so really need 85mm screws. Would these be ok or would they react with the gypsm plasterboard somehow?
