Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Enamelled steel bath Brilliant quality and price. Would recommend as far better and longer lasting than acrylic baths.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Steel bathtub It all started well however whatever you do, check your new bath thoroughly. We collected from store and drove to another Screwfix location to get the waste and accessories. Only then we discovered the bath is scratched so back to the original collection point. Luckily they had another in the second location. At collection point and I asked the member of staff to make sure it has no scratches but he declined and told me I must check it myself. I did so and went home but sadly when I removed all the packaging, the rim at the front had a large scratch. I could not be be bothered returning it and installed the bath. Note, you will without a doubt need a frame for this steel bath. You need to slope it towards the waste pipe by half cm or so. The waste connection recommended by Screwfix just barely worked, it would be best to find a better fitting waste connection. Once on frame and legs securely fastened and levelled, it is steady and looks good. Overall a good purchase and cost effective.

Is the bath surface bumpy, or smooth and flat?

Conflicting responses about the surface of bottom of the bath appear here. One says it is flat and smooth, and another states bumpy and that bumps can be felt when sitting in the bath. Which is correct?

I have brought this bath but the instructions say additional support necessary for rim and bath anchors needed but not included. Cannot find anything onine. What is required?

Asked by: Deeman1
Normally a timber frame is built to support all sides that aren’t fixed to a wall. If the side of the bath isn’t supported then it’s liable to bend then crack the porcelain resulting in the steel going rusty. I’ve personally used 1”x1” timber to create the frame then boarded it out and tiled over the top.
