Rated 3 out of 5 by from Let down by bad design I purchased this table saw largely because of the soft start and high power motor. I've owned it for about a year. It does the job for what I initially needed it for, but as I start to use it for different things I'm realising how it's either lacking in functionality or simply does a bad job at what should be a fundamental task. Positives * Cuts through hardwood as if it's butter. * large footprint and outfeed tray helpful when working with long pieces. * Soft start useful as my electrics are a little fragile in the workshop. * Feels sturdy and solidly built. Negatives * The fence is dreadful. It only locks in place on one edge which means there can be 3-5mm of wiggle room even if everything is as tight as possible. The plastic bolt/screw fittings that hold the fence in place strip very easily and are not suitable for purpose (and are fiddly to adjust even when working correctly). * The lack of mitre slots (which I was aware of) becomes more of an issue with the knowledge that you cannot purchase the sliding mitre attachment separately (which you get in the upgrade of this table saw). I've contacted a number of distributors and Sheppach themselves and I've been told that I should've just bought the upgraded table saw in the first place. Basically, because there are no mitre slots and the fence is useless, there's no cut you can make on this table saw that you can be confident on. Sometimes I get lucky and things come out square. Other times it's out by multiple mm which isn't really acceptable.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from So far so good. After a slight delay owing to current circumstances my new saw arrived, overall, impressed with the quality, seems well made and quite strong. Bit fiddly to assemble so don't be in a rush. Took me approx 2 hours. Run it and cut a small piece of 4x2 just to have a play. Unbelievably quiet. Cuts incredibly well, keeping in mind it's still a razor sharp blade of course. Wheels make it very easy to move in and out for storage when not in use, very powerful motor. Only flaw I can find is with the steel table, as with any steel table, it ever so slightly out of true. Not enough to stop me recommending this particular saw, I'm sure it will be accurate enough for any work I do and with a touch of fiddling around I've managed to get the top almost perfect apart from a miniscule high point next to the blade.

What is the difference between the HS120-0 and HS120? The pictures on Screwfix looks like the HS120 comes with more accessories however the picture for HS120-0 has 'special addition' on the side of the saw.

Asked by: Kilntos
Hello The hs 120o has no sliding table , the rip fence doubles up as a mitre guide , both machines have a rear extension table that can be used as a rh side table . The hs 120 is supplied with a sliding table on bearings .
