Approach with caution
given the other reviews i thought i would be pretty safe buying this but it was a mistake - no issues on the spec but the table is loose and floppy, and build quality very poor - if you want to do any work with any level of accuracy steer well clear !!!

Workshop drill
Only had this a little while and seems good so far. The manual is not particularly good the images are poor will elements not identified, the written instructions miss out components in several steps; not major issues but if you have used/seen a drill of this type before you might struggle with assembly. This is a direct supplier delivered item and the tracking and communication around delivery was terrible, that being said it was delivered within the two day timeframe as stated but I had no idea it was out for delivery

I found it as described, easy enough to put together with some good features, for the home serious DIY or budding home engineer I think its a good product for the price

A Little Disappointed
This is my second Scheppach power tool, And I've always thought German engineering was good, But the quality control I feel was missing on this pillar drill.
BAD POINTS
1, On the machine head one of Allen screws securing to the pillar is missing.
2, The On / Off switch is not square o the machine head. I have taken photos which can be provided.
The vice feels its made of lower cast and no securing bolts are provided which is a little disappointing.
GOOD POINTS
Fast Deliver.
The cross laser is a great feature.

Please excuse my ignorance but, what type of drill bit can be used with this bench drill. Thanks
Asked by: CBbb
Hello Most drill bits can be used on this drill press within its capabilities , high speed steel bits for instance are not good for MDF , you would need carbon drill bits .
This model accepts shanks up to 16mm , the correct speed must be selected for the material being drilled .
more detailed information regarding what types of drill bits are available can be found on the internet there are too many to list here .

I notice the DP16SL 405MM BRUSHLESS ELECTRIC CROSS-LASER BENCH DRILL is not fitted with a chuck, just an M2 taper, why ? Is it ok to permanently fit a keyed or keyless chuck with an Mr mortise. Does anyone have an online link to download a user manual.
Asked by: Royckk
Hi This machine is supplied with a 16mm keyless chuck which the user has to simply tap onto the morse taper supplied , this is normal with all drill presses . Please call the screwfix help line who should be able to have the manufacturer send the manual .
